iPad pro, iPad Air 2 or iPad 6
Apple tends
to update their product lines once every year. It has been published that Apple
will launch the iPad Pro, iPad Air 2 or iPad 6 sometime in October 2014 when
the original iPad Air launched on 22 October 2013.
The iPad Pro
hasn't been officially announced, but rumours and leaked details mean there is
little doubt it exists. It could be released sometime in the second half of
2014 along with iOS 8. Wang
predicts that the new tablet from Apple will be powered by an A8 processor
which will debut with the release of the device in fall 2014. He expects the
iPad device to be a hybrid of sorts, and a direct competitor to what Microsoft
has been trying to accomplish with the Surface line of products. Rumours have stated that iPad Pro
will come in two variants with different resolutions. Both models will pack
12.9-inch screen panel but will come with 2K and 4K display resolution,
respectively. Moreover, an Apple patent hinted that the tablet's bezels may be
hyper-sensitive and the iPad Pro will pack pressure sensors on the bezels that
may replace the physical home button. The iPad pro is expected to release with Apple's new A8
chip. The concept design
made the iPad Pro look similar to the iPad Air and iPad mini Retina in terms of
having curved corners and with a flat back. It has the Touch ID feature and its
screen at 12.9 inches with LED backlights and the IPS technology. With a bigger
screen, it surely requires the faster A8 chipset that is packed with a 64-bit
architecture.
In other
news, trusted KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the iPad Pro
release date will not happen in 2014 but will most likely happen next year,
according to Wall Street Cheat Sheet.
Kuo's
prediction is related with a report made by the DigiTimes Research team which
stated that Apple will temporarily put a halt on its plans for the production
of a 12.85 inch iPad. The analyst further predicted though that the iWatch will
be launched along with the iPad Pro or iPad Air 2 this year.
